“Putting Jesus In His Place”

John 8:12-30

The Jewish leaders wanted to put Jesus in “His place.” Throughout His ministry, they said he was a lawbreaker, a deceiver, and demon possessed. In our reading today, they said His testimony was invalid. But Jesus got the upper hand and put them in “their place.”  Today, people try to pigeonhole him by saying He’s not God. At best, he might be a “good teacher,” but nothing more.

For Christians, Jesus’ place is in our hearts.  He was set free from the cross. Therefore, we have been set free from sin and death. Our place is living the life that he’s called us to live.  And there is no better place to be while on this life’s journey toward heaven.
